This portal is your source for information about Ohio’s Alternate Assessment for Students with Significant Cognitive Disabilities (AASCD).
The Test Information Distribution Engine, or TIDE, opens for the 2016-2017 school year today. When logging into the site, users will immediately recognize a new design. The new intuitive interface is designed to improve navigation and provide additional tools for users to perform administrative tasks.
Several resources are available on the TIDE Resources page of the Ohio Alternate Assessment portal to help users navigate the new interface and complete tasks for the 2016-2017 school year. These include:
User Accounts and Resetting Passwords
All user accounts that had access to Ohio’s online systems in 2015-2016 will continue to have access for the 2016-2017 school year. Test coordinators are responsible for removing any accounts for users who no longer should have access to the testing systems. Test coordinators are encouraged to review the TIDE User Management Guidance document for information regarding user roles, managing user accounts and resetting passwords.
All users will be required to reset their passwords for the 2016-2017 school year. After TIDE opens on Aug. 29, all users will need to request a new password for the 2016-2017 school year. To request a new password, existing users will:
Test coordinators are responsible for passing this information onto their staff. Frequently asked questions regarding activating user accounts and passwords can be found in the TIDE FAQs.
The department has updated its Student Pre-Identification (Pre-ID) File layout for the 2016-2017 school year. The layout collects student information for Ohio’s State Tests, the Alternate Assessment and the Ohio English Language Proficiency Assessment (OELPA). Districts will continue to use the old Pre-ID layout for the Ohio Graduation Tests (OGT).
IMPORTANT: Districts participating in the summer 2016 administration for grade 3 English language arts and high school end-of-course tests will continue to use the 2015-2016 Pre-ID file layout. The new layout will not go into effect until the Fall 2016 administration. Additional resources and guidance documents will be published in the coming months.
It is important for districts to start preparing for changes in the way they will submit Pre-ID information to TIDE. Please download a copy of the new 2016-2017 Pre-ID layout for Ohio Statewide Assessments. The layout builds upon the 2015-2016 layout; changes to the layout are indicated in red font. Please share and work with your ITC and/or your district data service people as soon as possible in the preparation of the Pre-ID files.
