This fact sheet provides an overview the Alternate Assessment for Students with Significant Cognitive Disabilities (AASCD).

This document provides answers to frequently asked questions for families of students who participate in the Alternate Assessment.

This document outlines state and federal laws that inform whether a student can participate in Ohio’s alternate assessment. [Revised August 2014]

This is a tool that can be used by an IEP team to decide whether a student qualifies to participate in the alternate assessment. [Revised August 2014]

These standards help to ensure that students with significant cognitive disabilities are provided with multiple ways to learn and demonstrate knowledge. These standards were used to build the AASCD.

The Ohio AASCD Test Design Documents outline the test design, embedded field-testing plan, and blueprint specifications for each content area.

*Note: Grades 4 and 6 social studies are no longer assessed during state testing. These test design documents are still available as a resource to students and educators.
